For some reason the past week or so has shown little but crapy dm maps....if they really stink dont waste our time or yours by uploading or linkin this kinda garbage. Most are little more than a few big rooms with hallway and ramp.....keep at it and send in some good ones when your skillz become better. You canīt pull good maps out of thin air when nothing is being released right now. At least not daily or even a few times a week. I take care of these files on another ut2k3 mapping archive site and trust me...we get only newbie maps lately. Like Slam, Victoria and Nirvana and the like, the ones that nobody plays because they kill your videocard or just have bad gameplay (look into the stats for these maps). I define a good map as one that has good gameplay. They should be spacy so you can use all the jumping possibilities in ut2003, weapons and other stuff should be placed where it supports the flow of the game. Lighting should make opponents visible, so no dark maps. Maps should not get slow at least up to ten players. According to this definition the above named maps are bad eventhough they are very nice to look at; I call them museummaps. Gameplay makes a map good or bad, and when they also nice, well...........thatīs nice. Taas 27-09-2003 Hi All, What about just setting the database to load the maps to pages set with scoring system. So maps 0-20 goto one page & so on depending on how you set the scoring up. Then it will be easier just to click the page for scoring 40-50. For the best maps, what still holds all other maps as that is what the site is about. That is why I love this site most out of others as then it helps to incourage newbie mappers. What in turn makes them learn and make a better one as from the score they got. Gives them the insentive to do try that little bit more. Even if I made a map that scored 49 I still will try for a 50. But thats just dreaming.. :D I know there is the top maps page, that is cool, as only the good maps are there and they get moved down the list by better ones. Have fun.. All of the maps are on this site, jsut search for them, any enough chitter chatter here they are and enjoy. btw- they all hvae screens and have all got decent reviews at insite and a few have got staff pick at pcgamemods.com.
